If it works, don't change it
The game is, in essence, very similar to the previous releases. It offers the option of using touch screen controls or using your device's gyroscope. We must control our motorcycle and drive it through the more than 70 tracks that the title offers.
We will run solo or against a second user, that will run in ghost mode: we will see its trail in the same track and we must go faster than it. We can also connect the app with Facebook and run against our friends.
After each race we will be able to invest earned coins in improving our motorcycle or buying a new one. We will also be able to access tournaments that require an entrance fee, but whose prizes are more appealing.
The necessary coins
Trial Xtreme 4's main problem lies in the management of those coins. Although you start with 20,000 coins offered by the game, a bad decision at the beginning of your game can affect your whole experience.
And it's that we need the precious currency to compete with other users, sign up for interesting tournaments and improve our motorcycle. For all that, the initial 20,000 coins fall well short.
In addition to that, the competitions with other users are random, which is why we might play against someone with a motorcycle far superior to our own, which goes flying from the start line and leaves us with no chance from the first second.
A good game... no more
Trial Xtreme 4 has many elements that would make it a good game. However, the experience is a bit spoiled by the excessive importance of the coins and by the unequal matching in the duels.
We're left with the impression that it could have been an excellent game that ended up a good game, no more. Nevertheless, if you like motorcycles it's a worthwhile free download.
